Jeff Rollins, 56, Orange, junkman

How many tattoos? 11.

Location of tattoos? Shoulders and arms.

Cost of ink: $1,000 and a lot of bartering.

Ink master: Tony the Man at Finest Lines in Willowick.

Story behind the tattoos: "When I lived in Hawaii, I studied this Polynesian spiritual discipline called 'Huna.' According to Huna beliefs, the worst thing you can do is cause harm intentionally or unintentionally to another human being. The chains on my wrists are there to remind me never to cause harm and to always be aware of the other people around me. The crosses with the stars of David in the middle symbolize that I was raised Jewish but that I appreciate the teachings of Christianity. The cross points up toward the light. It points down toward the darkness. And the outstretched arms represent our free will toward good and evil. (A star of David is on each forearm.)
