| Dani Alves: Real Madrid Coach Jose Mourinho Will Not Change Barcelona's Philosophy - goal.com Posted: 20 Aug 2010 06:02 AM PDT
By Paul MacdonaldAug 20, 2010 6:57:00 AM Dani Alves, Jesus Navas, Barcelona, Sevilla (Getty Images) Related LinksTeamsPlayersThe Portuguese coach will guide Los Blancos into the new La Liga season, beginning with a trip to Mallorca next weekend, and has enlisted a number of new recruits to provide Blaugrana boss Pep Guardiola with his most difficult challenge yet. However, speaking with Spanish publication Sport, Alves insists that Barcelona will not alter their tactical outlook, and that he has complete faith in Guardiola to bring more success to the Camp Nou. He commented: "We are not playing against [Jose] Mourinho, we are competing against 19 teams, and of course [Real] Madrid are our direct rivals at the moment. It makes no difference with or without Mourinho, the way Barcelona compete will not change. "We must continue under [Pep] Guardiola because his concepts are the best I've ever had and I still think he is going to be the best coach in my career." Intriguingly, Alves also said in the interview that he had considered representing Spain earlier in his career having discussed the situation with Villarreal midfielder Marcos Senna, but is delighted to have decided to represent Brazil. He added: "It was a possibility that I discussed with Marcos Senna at the time. I never said no to that possibility [of playing with Spain]. "Thank God, I could realise my dream of defending the jersey of the Brazilian team." Click here to follow the Goal.com Twitter feed and join Goal.com USA's Facebook fan page!
