Museum of Outdoor Arts Takes First Place at the Art ... - Forbes

Posted: 25 Mar 2010 05:23 AM PDT

BusinessWire - There was no shortage of creativity at the Art Directors Club of Denver's 6th Annual Paper Fashion Show last night at Mile High Station. With more than 40 designs showcased, the competition was fierce. However, only one team could take the cake on the runway. The Museum of Outdoor Arts led by creative director Lonnie Hanzon took first place this year at the paper fashion show with a design inspired by ferns, flowers, wrought iron scrolls and wood branches.

In true competitive style, the panel of judges critiqued the fashions in several areas and assigned scores, based on originality or the "wow" factor, creative complexity and overall presentation. New this year, the audience had a chance to vote, too. The audience picked their favorite fashion of the night, which was Philosophy Communication/Section 45's design "Tribute".

The second place winner was the CSK Group: Haute off the Press, third place was a tie between Genfem's design "Frank" and Team Blue.

"Every year, it becomes more and more difficult imagining anyone being able to top these spectacular dresses. But, the inspiration and creativity of the designers always shines through. I'm already excited for next year!" said Jay Roth, president of the Art Directors Club of Denver.

The 6th Annual Paper Fashion Show brought in more than 800 attendees, more than double last year's attendance. With proceeds from the show going to the Downtown Aurora Visual Arts, ADCD is already looking forward to next year's show.
