Only Terrelle Pryor can solve his problems - Detroit Free Press

Terrelle Pryor's mistake isn't that he chose Ohio State over Michigan or, more specifically, Jim Tressel's offensive philosophy over Rich Rodriguez's.

His mistake is not grasping that he's more responsible for his development into a potential NFL quarterback than any coaching scheme. Instead of everyone questioning whether Tressel is maximizing the full weight of Pryor's athleticism, there should be more questions centered on how much time Pryor spends learning how to read defenses because ... you know ... that's what NFL quarterbacks DO!

Pryor stinks right now.

Michigan is counting its blessings that Pryor took his circus act to Columbus. It opened the door for Rodriguez to lure Tate Forcier who, despite genuine concerns regarding his physical ability to endure the punishment exacted on quarterbacks in Rodriguez's offense, excels far beyond Pryor in one important category -- accuracy.

Rodriguez doesn't look at quarterbacks as something he can mold into a future NFL career. He merely wants the best fit for his system.

Should Pryor's struggles with this juggling act continue, Tressel will have no choice but to fit Pryor into an offense reminiscent of what won Troy Smith a Heisman Trophy three years ago, a spread offense exclusively out of the shotgun in which the quarterback customarily throws off the first read. Vince Young ran a similar offense at Texas. It won the Longhorns a national championship, but few think Young has a chance at a successful NFL career because of either his inability or reluctance to study the assorted nuances of defenses.

The last thing Pryor needs is apologists making excuses for him. But his high school coach defended him this week when there were rumblings in Columbus that Tressel might bench the preseason favorite for Big Ten offensive player of the year.

"They need Terrelle to run more," Jeannette (Pa.) High coach Ray Reitz told ESPN.com. "They put the reins on him, and they need to let him go free. When I watch Terrelle right now, I see a robot."

Live free or die." This expression epitomizes New Hampshire's spirit and philosophy. (it's the state motto in fact). History proves, after all, that New Hampshirites are known for their fiercely independent nature, born of necessity in the early 1600s when European settlers established outposts in this mountainous and verdantly forested region.

By the way, the vast majority of Americans would support both of those things because they are free. They don't cost the taxpayers anything. The public option would cost trillions. A good adviser should be frugal with taxpayer dollars.

Having dealt with all of that, the president and I would sit down for a heart to heart. I would tell him that he has to tamp down his fascination with far-left radicals. Hanging around with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright was OK when Obama was a Chicago community guy shooting hoops in the schoolyard. Now that he's the most powerful man in the world, the left-wing loon factor must become a red flag.

I would gently suggest to the president that he tell his top aides not to publicly say Chairman Mao was a great philosopher, as White House Communications Director Anita Dunn recently did. In fact, while Mao was weaving his philosophy, more than 30 million Chinese died grisly deaths. So, as the president's top adviser, I would urge the following: NO MORE REFERENCES TO MAO!

Finally, I would advise Obama to stay off TV for a while. There is no question that he is overexposed. However, I would counsel him to appear on "The O'Reilly Factor." Because O'Reilly is no longer in the anchor seat, having taken the White House position, the president might even be able to complete a sentence. So, OK to Fox News. Detente at last.

New Agency Redefines Digital Through Social Behavior - PRLog (free press release)

it's not changing back."

Social Control practices a unique digital marketing methodology. The agency analyzes social behavior with respect to brands and the lifestyles behind them. Using what they call the "inside out approach", the team devises strategies that shape behavioral patterns and leverage existing ones for the benefit of their clients.

"The old model of developing brands and projecting them onto society is shortsighted. It leaves them on the surface; eventually, they will fade," says Silver. "By formulating strategies that are based upon cross-cultural social analysis—specifically, the ways people communicate and interact day-to-day—we're creating long term brand equity."

The dynamic agency is poised to make good on this claim with a staff of creative experts collaborating across the globe. These individuals have distinct professional specialties and widely varying cultural backgrounds, but are united under the company's deep-rooted philosophy.

The staff is particularly enthusiastic about the new "experience lab", a team dedicated explicitly to R&D, experimental projects, and expanding the breadth of digital communication. The lab will be releasing a 60 second animated film late October.

Social Control has already secured projects for international brand and ad agency clients, while staffers developed the company's identity and marketing materials.
